Ingredients list for Suji Halwa Pre Mix - SK Khazana
- 1 1/2 cups Semolina
- 3 tablespoons Ghee
- 3/4 cup Milk powder
- 1 1/2 cups Powdered sugar
- 6 tablespoons Mixed nuts powder
- 3/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- A large pinch of saffron
- Slivered pistachios for garnish
Method
- Heat a non-stick pan, add semolina and dry roast it till golden brown. Add ghee, mix and sauté for 2 minutes. Transfer onto a plate and spread it to cool down to room temperature.
- When cooled, transfer the semolina into a large bowl, add milk powder, powdered sugar, mixed nuts powder, green cardamom powder and saffron and mix till well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into an air tight container and store up to 6-8 days.
- To make instant suji halwa, take ½ cup of the pre-mix in an air tight microwave safe container and add 1 cup boiling water and mix well. Cover and set aside for 5 minutes. Keep it in the microwave and cook on high for 2 minutes. .
- Pack the suji halwa tightly into a katori, upturn the katori on a serving plate and gently lift the katori. Garnish with slivered pistachios and serve hot.
