Spicy Paunk Bhel

This version of bhel is simply delicious too – fresh jowar mixed with bhel ingredients and served in papad cones. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Spicy Paunk Bhel

  • 1 1/2 cups Paunk
  • 3-4 Maide ki Papdi crushed
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 1 large Tomato deseeded & chopped
  • 1 large Potato diced, boiled
  • 2 tablespoons Green chutney
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic and red chilli chutney
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • a few sprigs Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 4 medium Raw mango chopped (optional)
  • to taste Salt
  • 4 medium Papad (punjabi)
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 cup Pepper sev

Method

  1. Dry roast papad with a little oil on a tawa till just done. Quickly fold into cone shapes and keep in airtight jars till required.
  2. To make bhel, combine paunk, maide ki papdi, onion, tomato, potato, green chutney, garlic chutney, lemon juice, fresh coriander leaves, raw mango and salt. Toss well.
