Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- Salt to taste
- 4 teaspoons oil + drizzling + greasing
- Jaggery powder to sprinkle
- Coconut and jaggery milk to serve
Method
- Heat a non-stick deep bottom pan, add 2 cups water and bring it to a boil.
- Add salt, oil, rice flour and continuously keep mixing for a minute. Cover and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
- Transfer the rice flour mixture in a parat, knead while it is still warm. Continue kneading till it comes to room temperature.
- Grease a chakli press fitted with sev attachment. Shape the prepared mixture into a thick long cylinder and stuff it in the chakli press.
- Heat sufficient water in a non-stick deep bottom pan, place a banana leaf on the steamer and grease it with oil.
- Pipe out the mixture and steam for 5-10 minutes.
- Sprinkle jaggery powder and serve warm with coconut jaggery milk.
