Ingredients list for Scones - SK Khazana
- 2 cups Refined flour
- 3/4 Butter cut into cubes
- A pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 2 tablespo + for sprinkling Castor sugar
- 1/4 cup Milk
- Egg wash as required
- Cream cheese to serve
- Jam to serve
Method
- Sieve flour in a bowl, add butter, salt, baking powder and castor sugar. Mix with yourfingers till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Add milk and knead gently into a dough. Wrap it incling wrap and keep in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven at 180˚C.
- Place the dough between two parchment sheets and roll into a thick disc.
- Cut out small roundels with a cookie cutter and place them on a baking tray. Apply egg wash on top of each scone and sprinkle castor sugar over them.
- Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Take the tray out of the oven.
- Transfer the scones onto a serving plate, halve each horizontally, apply cream cheese on base half and apply jam on top. Cover with the remaining half and serve.
