Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Sabudana papad - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Sabudana 1 cup

  • Rock salt (sendha namak) to taste

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Oil for deep-frying


Step 1

Transfer sago into a bowl and wash it thoroughly. Add 1 cup water and soak for 6-8 hours.

Step 2

Transfer into a non-stick pan and add salt, cumin seeds and 5 cups water. Cook on medium heat till sago mixture is transparent and the sago is cooked.

Step 3

Spread spoonful of mixture on a plastic sheet and spread lightly. Sundry for 2 days.

Step 4

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the papads till crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and serve.
