Ingredients list for Rajasthani Lehsun Chutney with Apple

  • 20-25 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Green Washington apple
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
  • 2 teaspoons Yellow mustard seeds
  • 1 cup Dried red chillies
  • 1 tablespoon Dried mango powder
  • 1 tablespoon Castor sugar (caster sugar)


  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add fenugreek seeds, garlic cloves and yellow mustard seeds and sauté for a minute.
  2. Add dried red chillies and sauté on high heat till garlic turns golden. Switch off heat, add dried mango powder, castor sugar and salt and mix well. Set aside to cool.
  3. Deseed and cut Washington Apple into small pieces.
  4. Grind together chopped apple and roasted garlic-spice powder along with some water to make a smooth paste.
  5. Serve.
