Ingredients
- 25-30 small potatoes, boiled and peeled
- 3-4 dried red chillies
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red chillies
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 medium onions
- 2 teaspoons minced ginger
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon fennel seed (saunf) powder
- Salt to taste
Method
- Chop red chillies and remove seeds. Heat oil in a non sick pan. Thickly slice onions.
- Add red chillies and onions to the pan and saute for 2 minutes. Add ginger and garlic and saute for 1 minute. Add turmeric powder, crushed red chillies and fennel powder and mix. Continue to saute for 1 minute more.
- Add sweet and sour sauce and mix. Add tamarind pulp and mix. Add potatoes, crushed black peppercorns and mix well. Add 2 tbsps water and mix till all the potatoes are well coated. Add salt and mix well. Serve hot.
