Ingredients list for Ponni
- 85 grams Rice
- 30 grams Almonds
- 1.2 litre Milk
- 4 Green cardamoms
- 50 grams Sultanas
- a pinch Salt
- 1 teaspoon Rose water
- 12 segment Orange
Method
- Wash and soak the rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain. Chop the blanched almonds. Pour the milk into a pan and add the rice. . Bring it to boil, stirring constantly. Cook until the rice is soft and of creamy consistency. Add the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the cardamoms, chopped almonds, sultanas, pinch of salt and rose water. Continue cooking for few more minutes and serve hot immediately. Can be served cold also. Cool ponni completely. Peel the orange segments and remove the seeds. Place them in individual bowls and add the cold ponni on top.
