Ingredients list for Pizza Margherita Roll

  • 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • for greasing Olive oil
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling + brushing
  • 4 tablespoons Pizza sauce
  • 20-24 Fresh basil leaves
  • 8 Fresh mozzarella cheese balls (Bocconcini)


  1. Put refined flour in a bowl, add yeast, sugar and salt, mix well and knead into medium-soft dough. Set aside for 1-1½ hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 200º C.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions, shape them into balls and roll out into thin chapattis.
  4. Grease baking tray with olive oil and place a chapatti on it. Spread 1 tbsp pizza sauce over it and place 5-6 basil leaves. Slice some fresh mozzarella cheese and place on it, drizzle extra virgin olive oil on top, fold to make a roll and brush top of the roll with extra virgin olive oil. Similarly prepare the rest of the rolls.
  5. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. Reduce temperature to 180º C and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  6. Cut the pizza rolls into roundels, arrange on a serving plate and serve immediately.
