Italian cuisine has developed through centuries of social and political changes, with roots stretching to antiquity.  Italian cuisine is simple and a number of dishes having only four to eight ingredients.  They rely mostly on the quality of ingredients rather than elaborate preparation.

Ingredients for Pesto Mozzarella Sandwich - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Brown pav 4

  • Fresh mozzarella cheese ball 1

  • Medium tomatoes sliced 2

  • Micro greens to garnish

  • Pesto sauce

  • Fresh basil leaves 1 cup

  • Pinenuts 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic 3-4 cloves

  • Parmesan cheese powder 2 tablespoons

  • Olive oil 2 tablespo for drizzling

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180° C.

Step 2

To make pesto sauce put garlic cloves, parmesan cheese powder and pinenuts in a blender jar and grind.

Step 3

Add basil leaves, olive oil, salt and crushed black pepper and grind again into not too smooth paste. Transfer the pesto into a bowl.

Step 4

Slice the brown pavs without cutting through and place them on a baking tray. Cut fresh mozzarella into round slices.

Step 5

Spread pesto paste between each slice. Insert a cheese slice and a tomato slice alternately in between the slices. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes.

Step 6

Transfer them onto a serving platter, garnish with micro green and serve immediately.
