Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Perfect Phulka-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Whole wheat flour (att) 1 1/2 cups

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 1 tablespo teaspoon

  • Ghee for brushi


Step 1

Mix together whole wheat flour, salt and oil in a parat, add sufficient water and knead into a soft dough.

Step 2

Add 1 teaspoon oil and knead again till soft.

Step 3

Cover with a moist muslin cloth and set aside for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4

Divide the prepared dough into 12 equal portions and roll into thin discs.

Step 5

Heat a non-stick tawa and place each roti on it. Roast lightly on both sides, take it off the tawa and place on direct flame till it puffs up. Turn-over and let the other side puff too.

Step 6

Serve smeared with ghee.
