Ingredients list for Pear Bread Pudding

  • 2 Medium pears
  • 2 Fruit buns
  • 2 tablespoons Vanilla custard powder
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Raisins (kishmish)
  • 6 tablespoons Sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 180° C.
  2. Take vanilla custard powder in a bowl, add milk and mix till smooth. Pour into a deep non-stick pan and cook, stirring intermittently, till thick.
  3. Quarter pears, remove core and slice roughly.
  4. Heat butter in another non-stick pan, add pear slices and saute. Add raisins and 3 tbsps sugar and mix.
  5. Slice fruit buns and spread one layer in a baking dish.
  6. Add remaining sugar to the custard and mix.
  7. Put the sautéed pears over the bun layer in the dish. Place another layer of fruit bun slices.
  8. Pour the custard over and tap the dish lightly so that custard drizzles to the bottom of the dish.
  9. Serve warm.Keep the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Serve hot.
