Ingredients list for Mixed Fruit Crumble
- 3 large Refined flour 1 inch cubes
- 3 large Apples 1 inch cubes
- 1 inch piece Ginger chopped
- 1 tablespoon Honey
- 2 tablespoons Orange juice
- For topping
- 1 1/3 cups Refined flour (maida)
- 1/3 cup Butter softened
- 15-20 Almonds flaked
- 1/4 cup Porridge Oats
- 1 teaspoon Porridge Oats
- 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Honey
- To Serve
- Custard
Method
- Pre heat oven to 175º C.
- Lightly grease an ovenproof dish.
- To make the topping, sieve the flour in a bowl and rub in butter with your fingers until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in flaked almonds, porridge oats, mixed spices, brown sugar and honey. Mix until well combined.
- In a bowl mix together apples, pears, ginger, honey and orange juice. Spoon the mixture into the prepared ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the mixed fruits in the dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 175º C for half an hour until the topping is golden and the fruit tender.
- Serve it hot with custard.
