Ingredients list for Mishti Doi

  • 2 litres Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 8-10 Seedless dates
  • 1 tablespoon Yogurt


  1. Boil milk in a deep non stick pan on low heat, stirring continuously, till it reduces to half.
  2. Add sugar and stir to dissolve it.
  3. Take the pan off the heat.
  4. Boil dates in ½ cup water till soft.
  5. Cool and puree.
  6. Transfer the milk into a large bowl and let it become lukewarm.
  7. Add date puree and mix well.
  8. Add homemade yogurt and mix well.
  9. Pour into individual earthenware bowls and keep in warm place to set.
  10. Take care not to shake the bowls.
  11. Once set you can chill in the refrigerator.
  12. Serve chilled.
