Matar Puri

Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups fresh green pea puree
  • 1½ cups whole wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-green chilli paste
  • 1 tablespoon oil + for drizzling + for deep frying
  • Sabzi to serve

Method

  1. In a bowl, add whole wheat flour, salt, ginger-green chilli paste, green pea puree and mix well and add 1 tablespoon oil. Knead to stiff dough and set aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into balls. Drizzle a little oil on a worktop. Slightly flatten the dough balls and roll each into puri.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the puris till puffed up. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  4. Serve hot with Sabzi.
