Masala Sesame Potatoes

Ingredients 

  • 1 teaspoon white sesame seeds + to garnish 
  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds +to garnish 
  • 2 cups baby potatoes, boiled and peeled
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons chopped ginger 
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • Chopped spring onion greens as required

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, ginger, green chillies and onion, mix and sauté till onion is translucent.
  2. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and some water and mix well.
  3. Add potatoes and salt, mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add some water and mix. Add white and black sesame seeds and chaat masala and mix well.
  5. Add spring onion greens and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot garnished with black sesame seeds, white sesame seeds and spring onions.
