Lauki raita is healthy and tastes delicious. Serve this as a side dish with any Indian flat bread or over the rice.

Ingredients for Lauki Raita Recipe

  • Bottle gourd (lauki/doodhi) 250 grams

  • Yogurt 3 cups

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Peel and grate lauki. Boil grated lauki with a little salt for five minutes.

Step 2

Drain out water and let the lauki cool. Whisk chilled yogurt and mix salt and red chilli powder.

Step 3

Add boiled lauki and mix well. Dry roast cumin and make a coarse powder.

Step 4

Serve lauki raita sprinkled with cumin powder.
