Ingredients list for Khatte Meethe Chawal
- 1 1/2 cups Rice
- 1/2 cup Prunes chopped
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 4 Green cardamoms
- 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon Raisins
- 2 1/2 cups Orange juice
- 1/2 cup Sugar
Method
- Soak rice in three cups of water for half an hour. Take oil/ghee in a microwave bowl.
- Add green cardamoms and cinnamon and cook uncovered in the microwave on HIGH (100%) for two minutes. Drain the water from the rice and add to the bowl.
- Add prunes and raisins. Mix and then add orange juice and sugar and mix well. Cook uncovered on microwave HIGH (100%) for five minutes.
- Mix lightly, cover and cook on microwave HIGH (100%) for two minutes. Reduce power to microwave medium (70%) and cook till done. Let it stand for five minutes. Serve hot.
