Ingredients
- 1 cup maize flour (makai ka atta)
- 1 cup refined flour (maida)
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon dal masala
- Oil for drizzling + for deep frying
- Sour cream to serve
Method
- In a bowl, add maize flour and refined flour. Add turmeric powder, salt, dal masala and mix well.
- Make a well in the centre and add sufficient water, knead to semi-soft dough.
- Drizzle a little oil on the worktop, take a portion of the dough and shape it into a ball and slightly flatten it.
- Place the flatten dough on the greased worktop and roll it into a thin sheet. Prick with fork all over the sheet.
- Trim the sides to form a rectangular sheet, discard the edges and cut into triangles.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep fry till golden and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
- Serve with sour cream.
