Ingredients list for How to Poach Eggs

  • 4 Eggs
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vinegar
  • 4 English muffins
  • to taste Black peppercorns
  • to serve Iceberg lettuce leaves
  • to serve Red cherry tomatoes halved and roasted


  1. For each egg, heat sufficient water in a pan, add salt and ½ tsp vinegar and let the water come to a boil.
  2. Break one egg in a bowl. Stir the boiling water mixture, drop in the egg and poach for 3 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile halve the English muffins and place them on separate serving plates. Place the poached egg on the base half of a muffin, sprinkle some salt and crushed peppercorns on top. Similarly cook the remaining 3 eggs.
  4. Serve with few iceberg lettuce leaves and roasted cherry tomato halves.
