Hot Fudge Sundae

Hot fudge sauce poured over layers of vanilla ice cream, butterscotch ice cream and roasted nuts. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Hot Fudge Sundae

  • 50 grams Sugar
  • 50 grams Butter
  • 100 grams Dark chocolate grated
  • 3 tablespoons Golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 2 scoops Vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tablespoons Roasted almonds slivers
  • 1 scoop Butterscotch ice-cream
  • 2 tablespoons Walnuts roasted and broken
  • for garnishing Cherries


  1. To make hot fudge sauce, heat 120 ml water, sugar and butter in a non-stick pan. Mix and cook till the sugar just starts melting. Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  2. Reserve some chocolate for garnishing and add the remaining to the pan, mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add golden syrup, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Switch off heat and cool to room temperature. Add vanilla essence and mix well.
  4. Pour prepared fudge sauce on the sides of a tall glass. Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream, top with some reserved chocolate and 1 tablespoon almond slivers. Put butterscotch ice cream scoop, top with some more fudge sauce, remaining vanilla ice cream and some more fudge sauce. Garnish with remaining chocolate, remaining almond slivers, walnuts and cherries.
  5. Serve immediately.
