Ingredients list for French Bread Crispies
- 1 Whole Meal French Breads
- 2 tablespoons Tomatoes
- 5-6 large Tomatoes
- 5-6 cloves Garlic chopped
- to taste Salt
- 7-8 teaspoons Black peppercorns crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
- 1 teaspoon Dry oregano
- a few Fresh basil leaves
Method
- Cut whole meal French bread diagonally into half-inch thick slices and toast them. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Quarter the tomatoes, deseed and gently separate the flesh from the skin.
- Chop the flesh. Mix together olive oil, chopped tomatoes, chopped garlic, salt, crushed black peppercorns, red chilli flakes and oregano.
- Place the above mixture over each bread slice and grill in the preheated oven at 180°C for three to four minutes. Tear the basil leaves with hands and sprinkle over the toast and serve immediately.
