Fish Fillet Burger

Ingredients

  • 400 grams Indian salmon or any white fish fillet, cut into 4 fillets
  • 4 burger buns
  • Black pepper powder to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 eggs
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • Refined flour (maida) for coating
  • 1 cup dried breadcrumbs
  • Lettuce leaves as required
  • 4 cheese slices
  • Tartare sauce as required

Method

  1. Place the fish fillets on a plate, add salt, black pepper powder, garlic paste and lemon juice and rub on both sides. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. 
  2. In a bowl, add eggs and whisk well. Set aside
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Meanwhile, coat the fish fillets with refined flour, dip in egg mixture, and coat with breadcrumbs. 
  4. Deep-fry in the hot oil till golden-brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. 
  5. Halve the burger buns horizontally. Place lettuce leaves on each burger base, place a fish fillet over it, spread a dollop of tartare sauce and place a cheese slice over it. Cover with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve immediately.
