History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.
Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Falooda Recipe

  • Milk 3 cups

  • Falooda soaked 1/2 packet

  • Sugar 3 tablespoons

  • Subza soaked 1 teaspoon

  • Rose syrup 2 tablespoons

  • Cashewnuts chopped 10-12

  • Vanilla ice cream 4 scoops


Step 1

Heat the milk with the sugar and bring to a boil. Set aside to cool. Place in a refrigerator to chill.

Step 2

Add the soaked subza to the milk, stir and chill it in the refrigerator.

Step 3

Pour half a tablespoon of rose syrup into four wide-mouthed falooda glasses.

Step 4

Pour the milk into each glass, top with two to three tablespoons of falooda, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a sprinkling of chopped cashew nuts. Serve at once.
