Ingredients list for Coconut Macaroons
- 1/4 cup Dessicated Coconut
- 2 2/3 cups Egg whites
- 1 cup Almonds
- 2/3 cup Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 4 Egg whites
- 1 teaspoon Almond essence
Method
- Sieve flour. Chop almonds. Combine coconut, sugar, flour and salt in mixing bowl. Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly grease baking sheets. Lightly beat egg whites. Remove from baking sheets immediately. Makes about two and a half dozen macaroons.
- Stir in egg whites and almond essence into the above mixture. Add the almonds and mix well. Drop from teaspoon onto the baking sheets. Garnish with coconut flakes if desired.
- Bake at 325°F in the preheated oven for twenty to twenty-five minutes, or until edges of the cookies are golden brown.
- Remove from baking sheets immediately. Makes about two and a half dozen macaroons.
