Cocktail Sauce and Tartare Sauce

The base of both these sauces is mayonnaise. The cocktail sauce has dominant flavour of tomato ketchup while the other has flavour of pickled veggies. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list 

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon tabasco sauce

For Tartare Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 teaspoons vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard
  • 3 teaspoons chopped gherkins
  • 2-3 sprigs of fresh parsley

Method

  1. For Cocktail Sauce : Take mayonnaise in a bowl. Add tomato ketchup and mix well.
  2. Add Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and Tabasco sauce and mix well. Use as required.
  3. For Tartare Sauce : Finely chop parsley.
  4. Take mayonnaise in a bowl. Add vinegar, mustard, gherkins and mix well. Add chopped parsley and mix well. Use as required.
