Ingredients for Choco Rum Slice Recipe

  • Chocolate Biscuits 8-10

  • Rum 2 tablespoons

  • Sultanas 1 cup

  • Walnuts shelled 1/2 cup

  • Butter 1/2 cup

  • Condensed milk 1/2 cup

  • Egg 1

  • Cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon

  • Dark chocolate 125 grams

Method

Step 1

Crush biscuits to a coarse powder. Wash and pat dry sultanas. Dry roast walnuts and chop roughly. In a large bowl combine crushed biscuits, sultanas and chopped walnuts.

Step 2

Lightly mix and set aside. Combine butter and condensed milk in a pan, cook over low heat till butter melts. Remove from heat, whisk in egg, cinnamon and rum.

Step 3

Add the butter mixture to the biscuit mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until well combined. Line the base and sides of a square cake tin with aluminum foil and grease the foil with butter.

Step 4

Press the above mixture evenly into the prepared cake tin. Grate and place chocolate in a pan. Stir over barely simmering water until melted. Remove from heat and spread chocolate evenly over the biscuit mixture using a palette knife.

Step 5

Mark into slices and refrigerate until firm. Cut into slices and serve. Store in airtight container under refrigeration.
