Ingredients list for Chicken With Dates
- 750 grams Chicken Cut into 12 pieces on the bone
- 10-15 Dates seeded
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- 1 medium Onion
- 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
- 12-15 Shallots
- 8-10 Mushrooms stems removed
- 1/4 cup Red wine
- 2 cups Chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons Tomato puree
Method
- Heat oil in a non stick pan. Chop onion in a chopper. Sprinkle maida, salt and ½ tsp pepper powder over the chicken pieces and mix well and place them in the pan in a single layer and cook on high heat, turning sides, till they get lightly coloured. Drain and place them in a bowl.
- Add shallots and mushrooms and saute for 1 minute. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add chopped onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add red wine and mix well.
- Add chicken, dates, chicken stock and tomato puree and mix. Add salt, remaining black pepper powder and mix. When it comes to a boil, cover and cook on low for 20-25 minutes. Serve hot.
