What is the best thing one could rustle up in a hurry when hunger pangs are unbearable? The first thing that comes to mind is pasta! Believe it or not, it is the mainstay dish of all those who want a filling meal in a jiffy. What fascinates most food lovers is that it is available in a multitude of shapes, colours and now even flavours. The variety of shapes, sizes and designs include tubes, ribbons, spirals, shells, bows and wheels. Pleasures of pasta!

Ingredients for Cheesy Stuffed Shells Recipe

  • Pasta shells, boiled 2 cups

  • Cheese spread 3 tablespoons

  • Processed cheese grated 3 tablespoons

  • Red capsicum finely chopped ½ cup

  • Yellow capsicum finely chopped ½ cup

  • Green capsicum finely chopped ½ cup

  • Pickled jalapenos chopped 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Oil for deep-frying

  • Refined flour (maida) ½ cup

  • Bread crumbs dried ¾ cup

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Put red capsicum, yellow capsicum , green capsicum, jalapenos, cheese spread, cheese, salt and crushed peppercorns in a bowl and mix well.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in a pan.

Step 3

Fill a piping bag with capsicum-cheese mixture and pipe it into each boiled shell pasta.

Step 4

Reserve 2 tablespoons flour and coat stuffed pasta with the remaining flour. Transfer them on a plate.

Step 5

Add some water to the reserved flour and mix well to make thin smooth slurry.

Step 6

Dip stuffed pasta in slurry and coat with bread crumbs.

Step 7

Deep-fry each shell pasta in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 8

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
