Ingredients for Bread Sticks Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) 250 grams

  • Yeast dried 10 grams

  • Salt 5 grams

  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 10 grams

  • Oil 1 tablespoon + for greasing

Method

Step 1

Take yeast in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon water and heat in microwave for 10 seconds.

Step 2

Take refined flour in another bowl. Add salt, carom seeds, dissolved yeast and ¾ cup water and knead well into a soft dough. Add 1 teaspoon oil and knead again.

Step 3

Grease a baking tray with oil. Divide dough into small equal portions.

Step 4

Grease your palms with little oil and roll the portions into thin long sticks. Place them on the baking tray and set aside for 10-15 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Step 6

Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or till golden.

Step 7

Remove from oven, cool and serve as an accompaniment with soups.
