Bread Sticks

Ingredients list for Bread Sticks

  • 250 grams Refined flour (maida)
  • 10 grams Yeast dried
  • 5 grams Salt
  • 10 grams Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • for greasing Oil 1 tablespoon +


  1. Take yeast in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon water and heat in microwave for 10 seconds.
  2. Take refined flour in another bowl. Add salt, carom seeds, dissolved yeast and ¾ cup water and knead well into a soft dough. Add 1 teaspoon oil and knead again.
  3. Grease a baking tray with oil. Divide dough into small equal portions.
  4. Grease your palms with little oil and roll the portions into thin long sticks. Place them on the baking tray and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  6. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or till golden.
  7. Remove from oven, cool and serve as an accompaniment with soups.
