  • 500 grams boneless mutton, cut into small pieces
  • 1 medium beetroot, peeled and grated
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • ½ cup tomato puree
  • Salt to taste
  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste
  • 1 medium potato, peeled and cut into cubes
  • ½ cup grated carrot
  • 2 tbsps shredded cabbage
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Fresh sprig of parsley for garnish 


  1. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté till translucent. Add garlic and mix well.
  2. Add mutton pieces and mix well. Sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add tomato puree, mix well.
  3.  Add salt, crushed black peppercorns and mix well. Add sufficient water, mix and bring to a boil
  4. Add potato, carrot, beetroot, cabbage and lemon juice, mix well, cover and cook till mutton and vegetables are fully done.
  5. Garnish with fresh sprig of parsley and serve hot.
