Ingredients list for Bhooga Chawar

  • 1 1/2 cups Basmati Rice soaked
  • 3 tablespoons Onion
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3 Green cardamoms
  • 3 Cloves
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat oil in a heavy bottom vessel.
  2. Add onion, cumin seeds, green cardamoms, cloves and bay leaves and sauté till the onion turns golden brown in colour.
  3. Add red chilli powder and sauté for half a minute.
  4. Add soaked rice along with three cups of water and salt.
  5. Cook till the rice is done and all the water is absorbed.
  6. Serve hot.
