Ingredients for Bhaji Burger Recipe

  • Burger buns 4

  • Large onions sliced 4

  • Salt to taste

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 2 teaspoons

  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Gram flour 10 tablespoons

  • Spinach leaves shredded 1/2 bunch

  • Oil to shallow-fry

  • Mint mayonnaise as required

  • Romaine lettuce leaves as required

  • Tomato slices as required

  • Potato salli to serve


Step 1

Take onions in a bowl, add salt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, carom seeds and gram flour and mix well. Add spinach leaves, and mix well.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in non-stick pan.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a cutlet. Place each cutlet in the pan and shallow-fry, turning sides, till golden and crisp on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 4

Halve each burger bun horizontally, apply mint mayonnaise on both sides, place a few lettuce leaves on the base half of each bun. Place one bhaji on the leaves, top it with tomato slices and cover with the top halves of the buns to make a burger.

Step 5

Place each burger on separate serving plates and serve immediately with potato salli.
