Ingredients list for Basil Flavoured Rice Pudding With Grilled Tangerin
- 3-4 Basil leaves
- 1/2 Orange
- 1/2 cup Arborio rice cooked
- 1 cup Milk
- 7-8 Almonds
- 7-8 Pistachios
- 13/4 + 1/2 tablespoons Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Cream
- 2 tablespoons Castor sugar (caster sugar)
Method
- Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan on medium heat. Chop basil leaves and add. Roughly chop pistachios and almonds and add. Add rice and mix and cook.
- Peel the orange with a sharp knife and then cut into thin wedges. Add 1 ¾ tbsps brown sugar to the rice mixture. Add cream and mix well. When the mixture thickens, take the pan off the heat and set aside.
- Heat another non-stick pan, add orange wedges, sprinkle castor sugar and a ½ tbsp brown sugar and cook for 1 minute. Cut the orange skin into thin slices and add and mix well.
- Take the pan off the heat. Put the orange slices in serving bowls, put the pudding alongside, garnish with a few orange peel slivers and basil leaves, and serve warm or cold.
