Ingredients
- 1 cup canned tomato puree
- 1/2 cup fresh tomato puree
- 1 tablespooon olive oil + for drizzling
- 1 tablespoon chopped celery
- 1 teaspoon red chiili flakes
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 6-8 fresh basil leaves + to garnish
Method
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan, add celery and sauté for a minute.
- Add canned tomato puree and fresh tomato puree and mix well. Add chilli flakes, salt
and sugar, mix well and cook for 5-10 minutes or till the sauce reduces. - Tear the basil leaves and add. Mix and cook for a minute.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, drizzle some olive oil, garnish with basil leaves and use
as required.
