Warm Beverages to sip on during winter

Winter is here. For many, it is the most favourite season. The sun is calmer, the nights are cold and comforting and nothing beats the feeling of snuggling in the blanket on a cold winter night. During winter we also see a major shift in the things we consume. We consume more food during the winter. Warm piping hot food is always welcome and a warm cup of tea or coffee is something we cannot say no to. However, it does get boring drinking just the plain old coffee and tea every day. If you’re looking for some quick warm beverages apart from the regular tea and coffee, we’ve got some for you to enjoy this fine season.

Masala Doodh

This delicious beverage is not only easy to make but it is rich in nutrients and elements that will keep your body nice and warm on the inside. Reduced, thickened milk is loaded with rich dryfruits like cashewnuts, charoli, pistachios, and almonds along with some saffron, nutmeg and cardamom powder to make the drink feel more refreshing and flavourful.

Turmeric Latte

Call it Turmeric Latte to sound fancy, but it is in fact the classic Turmeric Milk that our mom has always forced us to drink. Turmeric is known for its nutritive benefits along with its healing properties. Moreover, turmeric is also known to provide warmth to the body so this drink is a complete all-rounder. Moreover this recipe also blends in cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg for added flavour.

Filter Coffee

If you’re wanting to get energised on a lazy winter afternoon, this recipe for Filter Coffee should do the trick. The process of making this coffee is slightly different where you’ll need the traditional coffee filter. The process is fairly simple but the result it delivers is nothing short of amazing. The filter coffee apparatus results in a stronger concoction and releases more flavour that the regular homemade coffee cannot.

Matcha White Chocolate Latte

Coming straight from Japan is this delicious Matcha White Chocolate Latte. Matcha green tea is known to boost metabolism and burn calories while also being the perfect detoxifier. Milk and White chocolate is mixed and brought to boil. Later this delicious mixture is poured in a cup with powdered Matcha Green Tea and mixed well. If you’re having guests over or just a regular get-together, this drink is sure to put the crowd in awe.

Noon Chai

Noon Chai from the heavenly land of Kashmir is another refreshing beverage with a unique set of flavours. Unlike other kinds of tea, this isn’t very sweet, even after the inclusion of sugar. Tea leaves are brewed with salt, soda bicarbonate, cinnamon and star anise. In the end the drink is garnished with pistachios. This drink is known to bring warmth to the body while being refreshing at the same time.

Badam Milk

Nothing calms the soul on a winter morning like a nice warm glass of the classic Badam Milk. Badam paste is cooked with warm milk, along with saffron, green cardamom powder and nutmeg powder. While being nutritious, the drink is also very filling and is perfect as a post-dinner drink. This simple yet delicious drink is the warm hug you need on a cold winter morning.
