Warm Cabbage Salad

This warm, tangy-sweet dish combines sautéed onions, shredded purple cabbage, and apple strips, enhanced with raisins and a touch of vinegar and sugar. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 small purple cabbage, shredded
  • 1 apple, cut into thin strips
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1½ tablespoons sugar
  • 2½ tablespoons raisins
  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

Method

  1. Heat butter in a non-stick pan, add onion and sauté till translucent. Add cabbage and sauté well.
  2. Add apple and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add salt, vinegar, sugar and raisins. Add crushed black peppercorns and sauté well. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Serve warm.
