Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Cream butter and castor sugar in a bowl till light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and beat well. Add vanilla essence and beat again. Add flour and fold in well to make a smooth mixture. Put this mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe out rosettes on the parchment paper and top with cherries. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake till golden. Remove from heat and cool completely.
