Ingredients list for Strawberries In Sauce Anglaise
- 20-24 Fresh strawberries
 - 500 millilitres Cream
 - 1 Vanilla pod
 - 4 Egg yolks
 - 150 grams Sugar
 - 2 teaspoons Cornflour/ corn starch
 - 3-4 Black peppercorns crushed
 
Method
- Hull and quarter the strawberries. Arrange them in a serving bowl.
 - Heat cream in a pan. Slit the vanilla stick or pod, remove the grains and add to the cream.
 - Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally for about five minutes.
 - Strain into another pan and cool slightly. Take egg yolks in a bowl, add sugar and corn flour and whisk together thoroughly till well blended.
 - Add to the cream and cook on low heat, stirring continuously, till the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
 - Pour the sauce over the strawberries. Sprinkle freshly crushed black peppercorns and serve hot.
