Each Chinese dish reflects a balance of taste, texture, aroma and colour. Be it sweet, sour, pungent, hot, salty or spicy – all the six basic flavours are incorporated deftly in all Chinese dishes.

Ingredients for Stir Fried Pak Choy With Sesame Sauce Recipe

  • Pak choy 4

  • Sesame seeds (til) 3 tablespoons

  • Brown sugar 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic sliced 5-6 cloves

  • Soy sauce 3 tablespoons

  • Sesame oil (til oil) 2 tablespoons

  • Ginger chopped 1 1/2 inch pieces


Step 1

For the sauce, toast the sesame seeds till lightly coloured and fragrant. Crush to a paste with the sugar, half the garlic and soy sauce in a pestle with a mortar or in a spice grinder.

Step 2

Add enough sesame oil to make a pourable sauce Heat a little sesame oil in a wok and sauté the ginger and rest of the garlic for half a minute. Add the pak choy and stir-fry quickly until the stems are just tender.

Step 3

Transfer onto the serving plate, drizzle with the sauce and serve immediately.
