Noteworthy changes in Italian cuisine happened with the discovery of the New World and the introduction of potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers and maize, which are now an integral part of this cuisine.  Italian cuisine is known for its regional diversity each with a distinct taste.  This cuisine today is probably one of the most popular in the world.

Ingredients for Penne Ala Vodka Recipe

  • Penne boiled 200 grams

  • Vodka 4 tablespoons

  • Onion 1 medium

  • Celery 1 inch

  • Olive oil 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic 4-5 cloves

  • Tomatoes chopped 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli sauce 1 medium

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon

  • Fresh cream 2 tablespoons


Step 1

Roughly chop onion. Chop celery. Heat olive oil in a non stick wok and add onion and celery. Crush garlic cloves and add and sauté.

Step 2

Add tomatoes and mix. Add salt, chilli sauce and crushed peppercorns and mix. Add 2 tbsps vodka and mix well and cook till the tomatoes soften. Transfer into a bowl and allow it to cool slightly.

Step 3

Transfer into a mixer jar and blend into a puree.Put the pasta in the wok, add the puree and mix well.Add remaining vodka and mix. Add cream and mix and cook till the penne gets heated through. Serve hot
