Ingredients list for Orange Squash

  • 2 1/4 cups Orange juice
  • 2 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 3 teaspoons Citric acid
  • 1 teaspoon Orange colour
  • 1 teaspoon Orange essence
  • 1/2 teaspoon Potassium metabisulfite (KMS)

Method

  1. Boil together sugar, two cups of water and citric acid till all the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Line a strainer with a muslin cloth and keep it over a bowl.
  3. Pour the sugar syrup into the strainer and strain.
  4. Add orange juice and cool. Add colour and essence and mix well.
  5. Dissolve the KMS in a little water and add to the squash. Pour into sterilised bottles and store.
