Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Malvani Paneer Fry Recipe

  • Paneer cut into 1½ inch cubes 300 grams

  • Rice Flour to taste

  • Lemon juice 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Turmeric powder 3/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 3 tablespoons

  • Ginger paste 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Garlic paste 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Oil for shallow frying

  • Rice flour 4 tablespoons

  • Semolina (rawa/suji) 4 tablespoons


Step 1

Marinate paneer with salt and lemon juice in a bowl for fifteen minutes in a refrigerator. Mix together turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, ginger paste, garlic paste and mix into the paneer.

Step 2

Cover the bowl, and return to the refrigerator for fifteen to twenty minutes. Heat oil in a shallow pan. Mix rice flour and semolina and spread on a plate.

Step 3

Coat the marinated paneer with this mixture and shallow-fry till golden crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
