Ingredients list for Hari Bhari Khichdi

  • 1/2 cup Rice soaked
  • 1/4 cup Split Green gram skinless
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1/2 teaspoons Cumin seeds
  • 4 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 5 Spring onions chopped
  • 1/4 cup Green peas
  • 2 stalks Spring onion greens chopped
  • 25 leaves Spinach blanched and pureed
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Pressure-cook the rice and split green gram with two cups of water till pressure is released four times (four whistles). Heat the ghee in a non-stick deep pan. Add the cumin seeds, garlic and spring onions and sauté for two minutes.
  2. Add the green peas, spring onion greens and spinach puree and sauté for a minute. Add the cooked rice mixture and salt and mix well. Serve hot.
