The cuisine of The United States is a rich amalgamation of peoples, religions and cultures thanks to the immigrants from different parts of the world.  They brought with them their local ingredients as well as cooking styles with them.  Yet amidst all these varieties Chinese and Italian cuisines dominate.  
During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods.  What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

Ingredients for Eggs Fritura Recipe

  • Brown bread 4 slices

  • Eggs 2 tablespoons

  • Onion chopped 1/2

  • Green capsicum seeded and chopped 1

  • Tomato seeded and chopped 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns freshly gorund to taste

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Eggs 4

  • Cheddar cheese 4 tablespoons


Step 1

Toast the bread slices. Keep them warm. Heat butter (or oil), add chopped onion and sauté slightly. Add chopped capsicum and continue to sauté. Add chopped tomatoes. Add salt and crushed pepper and mix well.

Step 2

Heat a little oil in another pan. Break an egg into a bowl and slowly pour into the hot pan. Fry. Place a toast in a plate, spread the cooked vegetables over it. Place the fried egg over it. Sprinkle a little salt and freshly ground pepper.

Step 3

Sprinkle grated cheese and chopped parsley and grill it for about one minute. Similarly prepare the other toasts and serve hot.
