Ingredients list for Chilli Chana Aloo

  • 3 tablespoons Red chilli saucew
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsps + to garnish Schezwan sauce
  • 1 cup Brown Bengal grams (kala chana) , soaked overnight and boiled
  • 2 medium Potatoes (aloo) , boiled and peeled
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic , finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger , finely chopped
  • 1 medium Onion , finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 2 tbsps + to garnish Spring onion greens , roughly chopped
  • to garnish Fried noodles

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, garlic and ginger, mix well and sauté for 2 minutes. Add onions, mix and sauté till translucent.
  2. Cut potatoes into small cubes, add and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add red chilli sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, red chilli powder, Schezwan sauce and brown Bengal gram, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add spring onion greens and toss.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with spring onion greens, Schezwan sauce and fried noodles and serve hot.
