Ingredients list for Afghan Biscuits
- 200 grams Butter
- 2 cups Corn flakes
- ½ cup Sugar
- 1¼ cups Refined flour (maida)
- ¼ cup Cocoa powder
- Chocolate Icing -
- 200 grams Dark chocolate chopped
- ½ cup Fresh cream
- 250 grams Butter
- for garnish Walnut kernels
Method
- Preheat oven at 180ºC.
- Put butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and cream together till light and fluffy.
- Sift the refined flour and cocoa powder into another bowl.
- Add this flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix well. Add cornflakes and mix well. Refrigerate for ten minutes.
- Place scoops of the mixture on a baking tray, keeping some distance between each, and bake in the preheated oven for twelve to fifteen minutes.
- For chocolate icing, mix chocolate, fresh cream and butter in a bowl and microwave it for a minute. Remove and mix properly with a whisk.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool to room temperature.
- Spoon the chocolate icing over the biscuits and spread it evenly. Garnish with walnuts and serve immediately.
