Ingredients list for Whole Wheat Pita Bread
- ½ kg + for dusting Multigrain Flour
- 25 grams Dry yeast
- 10 grams Salt
- 25 millilitres Olive oil
Method
- Preheat oven at 200°C.
- Take yeast in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons warm water and mix well. Set aside.
- Combine flour and salt in another bowl. Add dissolved yeast and 1-1½ cups water and knead into a soft dough.
- Add oil and knead again. Cover and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Dust a worktop with flour and roll out a portion of dough into a 1 inch thick sheet. Cut out circles using a ring cutter dipped in flour. These are pita breads.
- Arrange pita breads on a baking tray, cover with a moist cloth and set aside for proving for 10-15 minutes. Place tray in preheated oven and bake for 4 minutes.
- Remove from heat, cool and use as required.
