Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Tiramisu Recipe

  • Club soda 12 slices

  • Kolkum Syrup

  • Unflavoured gelatine 1/2 tablespoon

  • Thick cream 1 cup

  • Powdered sugar 1/2 cup

  • Egg yolks 3

  • Sugar 1/4 cup

  • Instant coffee powder 2 tablespoons

  • Mascarpone cheese 3/4 cup

  • Chocolate curls to decorate

Method

Step 1

cut each slice of cake in half. Dissolve the gelatine in three tablespoons of hot water. Whip the cream with powdered sugar till stiff and set aside.

Step 2

Whip the egg yolks with sugar and one tablespoon of water in a double boiler, or in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water, till the mixture forms thick ribbons.

Step 3

Set aside to cool.
