Ingredients list for Tea Cookies
- 225 grams Refined flour (maida)
- 75 grams Icing sugar
- 150 grams Butter
- 1 Egg
- 20-25 Candied cherries halved
Method
- Preheat oven at 220º C.
- Sift sugar into a bowl, add butter and cream them together with an electric beater till smooth.
- Break egg into the bowl and continue to beat with the beater.
- Sift flour into the same bowl and mix well.
- Divide dough into small equal portions and shape them into balls. Flatten the balls and place them on a baking tray keeping sufficient space between each. Place a candied cherry half on top of each cookie.
- Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 7-8 minutes. Remove from oven and cool them on a wire rack.
- Serve or store in an airtight container.
